Overview
Cambodia's southern coast is dotted with islands ranging from developing tourist hubs to uninhabited jungle outcrops. All are reachable from Sihanoukville (or Kep for Koh Tonsay). The dry season (November to April) offers the best conditions—calm seas, sunny days, and clear water for snorkeling.
Monsoon Season
During heavy monsoon (June–September), ferries can be cancelled and seas are rough. Some islands partially shut down. If visiting in wet season, check ferry schedules the day before and have a backup plan.
Koh RongThe Party Island
Cambodia's largest island has transformed from a backpacker secret to a developing tourist destination. The main hub at Koh Touch has bars, restaurants, and hostels. Long Set Beach (aka Long Beach) on the western side is 7km of pristine white sand—one of the best beaches in Southeast Asia. Bioluminescent plankton lights up the water at night.
