Q: Will my tip appear straight away?

No. After you press Submit, the tip is stored for the editorial team to review. The Community Tips page lists only submissions that have been approved, so a new tip will not show up until it has been checked.

Q: What are the limits on what I can write?

Your name needs at least 2 characters, the city must be chosen from the list (or Other), and the tip itself must be between 10 and 2,000 characters. You can mark it as a Tip, Hidden Gem, Warning, Food Spot or Guide.

This form lets travelers and expats send in what they have learned on the ground, so that others can use it when planning a trip. You give your name, choose the city or area the tip is about, and pick a type: a general tip, a hidden gem, a warning, a food spot or a short guide. Then you write the tip itself, up to 2,000 characters. Specific details are more useful than general praise, such as the name of the place, what you did there and what you would do differently.

An email address is optional and is used for follow-up only. It is not published. Nothing goes live as soon as you submit: each tip is held for review by the editorial team, and the Community Tips page shows only approved submissions. If you would rather read first, the community page lists the tips that have already been published.

Is my email address published with my tip?

No. The email field is optional and is labelled "for follow-up only, not published". Only your name, the city, the type and the text of your tip can appear on the Community Tips page, and only after review.
