Cambodia has a tropical monsoon climate. The dry season (November–May) includes the cool period (Nov–Feb, 25–30°C) and the hot period (Mar–May, 35–40°C). The wet season (June–October) brings daily afternoon downpours but mornings are usually clear. Average annual rainfall is 1,400mm in the lowlands, up to 4,000mm in the mountains.
