The Silver Pagoda, officially known as Wat Preah Keo Morakat (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), is the royal temple within the Royal Palace complex in Phnom Penh. Its name derives from the floor, which is made of 5,329 silver tiles weighing over 6 tons total. The temple houses the most sacred Buddhist objects in Cambodia, including a 17th-century Baccarat crystal Buddha (the "Emerald Buddha") and a life-sized gold Buddha encrusted with 9,584 diamonds, the largest weighing 25 carats. The surrounding courtyard features a gallery of murals depicting the Reamker (Cambodian Ramayana), though these are in need of restoration. The complex also houses a model of Angkor Wat, royal stupas containing royal ashes, and a footprint of the Buddha.
