Battambang Shooting Range
Less touristy option in Cambodia's second city. Authentic military experience, fewer crowds.
Overview
The Battambang Shooting Range offers the most authentic, least commercialized shooting experience in Cambodia. Located in Cambodia's second-largest city, it sees far fewer tourists than the Phnom Penh or Siem Reap ranges.
This is a genuine military facility where shooting for tourists is a side operation. The experience is raw and unpolished—which is exactly what some visitors prefer. Prices tend to be lower than the more touristy options.
The weapon selection is more limited (primarily AK-47, M16, and pistols), but the experience feels more genuine. You're shooting at a working military installation, not a tourist attraction.
Getting There
Transport Information
- The range is located outside Battambang city. Local tuk-tuk drivers or your guesthouse can arrange transport.
- Battambang itself is accessible from Phnom Penh by bus (5-6 hours) or boat from Siem Reap (seasonal).
- Ask at your accommodation—many Battambang guesthouses can arrange the entire trip including transport and booking.
What to Expect
Your Visit
- A no-frills experience at a working military facility. English may be limited, so a local guide is helpful.
- Fewer tourists means more personal attention and a more relaxed atmosphere. You won't feel rushed.
- The range is basic with minimal facilities. Safety equipment is provided but standards may be more basic than Phnom Penh ranges.
