Elephant Valley Project
The Elephant Valley Project (EVP) is Cambodia's gold-standard ethical elephant sanctuary, located in the forests of Mondulkiri province. Unlike exploitative elephant tourism, EVP provides a retirement home for elephants rescued from logging and tourist rides. Visitors observe elephants from a respectful distance as they forage, bathe in mud wallows, and socialize in their natural forest habitat — no riding, no bathing with elephants, no chains. Guided walks through the forest with indigenous Bunong trackers offer insights into elephant behavior and the Bunong people's traditional relationship with these animals.
