Phare, The Cambodian Circus originated in Battambang where war-affected youth used art as therapy, eventually building one of Southeast Asia's most acclaimed performing arts organizations. The backstage experience at the Battambang campus — where it all began — includes a tour of the training facilities, a chance to watch young performers rehearse, conversations with artists about their journeys, and a mini-workshop in circus skills. You'll understand how Phare transformed trauma into triumph and continues to change lives through arts education. The Siem Reap show is world-famous, but Battambang is where the heart of Phare beats.
