    Ferries & Boats in Cambodia

    Overview

Boats are essential transport in Cambodia for reaching the islands (Koh Rong, Koh Rong Sanloem) and crossing waterways. Speed ferries connect Sihanoukville to the islands in 45 minutes, while slower boats traverse the Tonle Sap lake. The historic Phnom Penh to Siem Reap river route (via the Tonle Sap) operates seasonally and is more tourist experience than practical transport.

    How It Works

Island ferries: book online at buvasea.com or speedferrycambodia.com, or at the pier. Arrive 30 minutes early. Life jackets are provided. River boats: arrange through tour operators or at local piers. Tonle Sap boats: book through Siem Reap tour operators.

    💰 Pricing

Ferry prices vary by route and season. Island ferries have fixed prices; river boats and local ferries are cheaper but less scheduled.
