Four identical small temples at each corner of Angkor Thom's walls — peaceful walks along the ancient city ramparts.

The four Prasat Chrung ("Corner Temples") are small Buddhist sanctuaries built by Jayavarman VII at each corner of the Angkor Thom wall. Each temple consists of a single cruciform tower with inscriptions and is accessed by climbing the earthen city wall and walking along the rampart. The walk along the top of Angkor Thom's massive wall, through shady forest with views over the moat, is one of the most peaceful and overlooked experiences in the Angkor complex. The southeast Prasat Chrung is the most accessible and best-preserved, featuring an important stele inscription about the construction of Angkor Thom.
