Overview
Cham Yeam–Hat Lek is the coastal Cambodia–Thailand crossing, handy for travelling between Thailand's Trat/Ko Chang area and Cambodia's Koh Kong, Sihanoukville and the islands. It is far calmer than Poipet. Like all Thai land crossings, it is currently closed following the 2025 conflict; the process below applies for when it reopens.

- 4Get an e-Visa or $30 Visa on Arrival and clear Cambodian immigration
- 5Take a taxi to Koh Kong town (~15 min), then onward buses to Sihanoukville or Phnom Penh
Transport
From Bangkok: bus to Trat, minivan to Hat Lek. On the Cambodian side, taxis run to Koh Kong town, with onward buses to Sihanoukville (~4–5h) and Phnom Penh (~5–6h).
Tips
- •Quieter and less scam-prone than Poipet
- •Good for combining Ko Chang with Cambodia's coast
- •Morning crossings have the shortest queues
