Nigerian citizens must apply at a Cambodian embassy in advance

Cambodia does not offer e-Visa or visa on arrival to Nigerian passport holders. You must obtain your visa before travelling from the nearest Cambodian embassy or consulate. Apply well ahead of your trip and be ready to provide supporting documents.

    Overview

Nigerian citizens need a visa to enter Cambodia, and — unlike most nationalities — cannot use the online e-Visa or visa on arrival. Instead, you must apply in advance at a Cambodian embassy or consulate. The visa itself is the standard tourist or business visa; only the application channel is different. Plan ahead, as embassy processing takes longer than the online options available to other travellers.

    How to Get Your Visa

Apply at a Cambodian embassy or consulate

    1. Find your nearest Cambodian embassy or consulate (see the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the mission list).
    2. Complete the visa application form and gather your documents.
    3. Submit in person or by mail with the visa fee (confirm the current amount and payment method with the embassy).
    4. Collect your passport with the visa before you travel.

Typical supporting documents: passport valid 6+ months with a blank page, passport photos, a completed application, and often proof of onward/return travel, accommodation and sufficient funds. Requirements vary by mission — confirm with yours.

    Entry Requirements

    • Passport: valid for at least 6 months beyond arrival, with at least one blank page.
    • Photo: a passport-sized photo for the application (or the visa-on-arrival counter).
    • Funds & onward travel: proof of onward/return travel and sufficient funds may be requested.
    • USD cash: Cambodia runs on US dollars — bring clean, undamaged bills for fees.

The tourist visa can be extended once for 30 days. For longer stays, consider the business (E-class) visa, which can be extended long-term.

    Important safety note

Nigerian nationals have been targeted by fake "job in Cambodia" trafficking — never accept an unvetted job offer or hand over your passport. See our scam-compounds guide.

    Getting to Cambodia from Nigeria

Connect via a Gulf hub (Doha, Dubai) or a major Asian gateway to Phnom Penh or Siem Reap.

Phnom Penh is now served by the new Techo International Airport (KTI), and Siem Reap by Siem Reap-Angkor (SAI). See our flights guide for booking tips.
