    Overview

Polish citizens require a visa to enter Cambodia. There is no visa-free arrangement between Poland and Cambodia. Cambodia has become increasingly popular with Polish travellers seeking affordable exotic destinations in Southeast Asia.

Poland's growing middle class and expanding air connections have made long-haul destinations like Cambodia more accessible. Polish backpackers and cultural tourists are a growing presence in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, attracted by low costs and rich history.

Most Polish tourists use either the e-Visa (applied online before departure) or Visa on Arrival. Both provide a 30-day Tourist Visa at $36 or $30 respectively.

    Consular Services

Poland does not have an embassy in Cambodia. Consular services are provided by the Polish Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand. EU member state embassies in Phnom Penh can provide emergency assistance.

    Border Crossing Tips

    Best Entry Points

    • Phnom Penh Airport (PNH): Most international arrivals. VOA queue 20-40 minutes.
    • Siem Reap Airport (REP): Direct if heading to Angkor Wat. Shorter queues.
    • Poi Pet (Thai border): For overland from Bangkok. E-Visa recommended to skip queues.

    E-Visa vs Visa on Arrival

For Polish travellers, the e-Visa is recommended. It costs $6 more but saves time at immigration, especially during peak season (November-February). The e-Visa is accepted at all airports and major land borders (Poi Pet, Bavet, Cham Yeam).

    Practical Tips

    • Bring clean, post-2006 US Dollar bills — torn or marked notes are rejected
    • Have a passport photo ready (4x6cm) for visa on arrival
    • Print e-Visa approval letter in two copies
    • Complete the arrival card on the plane to save time

    Health & Insurance

    Recommended Vaccinations

    • Routine: Hepatitis A, Typhoid (strongly recommended)
    • Recommended: Hepatitis B, Tetanus-Diphtheria booster
    • Consider: Japanese Encephalitis (rural areas), Rabies (extended stays)
    • Malaria: Prophylaxis for remote border regions only; not needed in tourist areas

    Travel Insurance

Polish NFZ (National Health Fund) does not cover treatment in Cambodia. Private travel insurance is mandatory for a safe trip.

    • Ensure coverage includes medical evacuation to Bangkok (nearest advanced care)
    • Minimum recommended: PLN 500,000 minimum medical coverage with evacuation to Bangkok
    • Popular Polish providers: Signal Iduna, Warta, PZU, Allianz, World Nomads

    Healthcare Agreement

Poland has no reciprocal healthcare agreement with Cambodia. All medical costs must be covered by private insurance.
